Connect your Gmail to Aligned to streamline email sharing, track communication within Rooms, and improve email context with dynamic room links.

**About Gmail**

Connect your Gmail to bring email interactions closer to your workspace. This integration allows you to:

- Sync relevant email threads to your Aligned Rooms for better collaboration.
- Share room links directly in your Gmail compose window.
- Maintain context by adding email conversations into room timelines.
- Automatically generate email drafts tailored to your Room and communication context.

**Prerequisites**
The integrating user must have an active Gmail account.

**Integration Scope**
Integration is user-specific and requires individual setup.

**Permissions**
To sync and manage email content, Aligned app requires the following Gmail access:

- `gmail.modify`– to read relevant emails, create personalized email drafts, and label emails
- Label management permissions – to organize and manage synced emails behind the scenes.

**Integration Setup**
To enable Gmail integration:

1. Press **Integrate** on the top left of this page.
2. Or go to **My Account > Settings > Integrations**.
3. Press **Connect** under Gmail.
4. Grant the required permissions.
5. Once connected, you’ll see **Settings** and **Disconnect** options.

Once connected:
- Aligned will create email drafts for you, using Room data and past email threads to tailor content.
- Room links can be inserted directly from your Gmail compose window.
- Relevant emails will be labeled and organized automatically behind the scenes.
- Email activity will be reflected in Room timelines when matched with known participants.

You can manage preferences anytime from the Gmail integration **Settings** screen.
